please help I am so nervous?

I applied at a bakery/cafe and the manager said I “could come in for a trial day, but no guarantees”. She also asked me if I had experience with waitressing and such and I said “that I had worked at Starbucks, and had experience with making coffee etc. Today, I went in for lunch to observe the waitresses, and this girl who worked there came and introduced herself to me. She said “you’re going to be making the coffee right?” The machine at Starbucks was automatic…and the machine at the bakery isn’t! I know how to make all the particular expresso drinks. Is it going to be a huge problem that I don’t know how to work this particular machine? What should I say to explain this?

Don’t be nervous! Pretend you’re an actress playing a part in a movie, and just act your way through it. That’s what I’ve done at all my interviews, and it works like a charm. Confidence is key. As far as the coffee machine, you should just say something like “The machines at Starbucks were pretty different from this one, could you just quickly tell me a little bit about this one?” Then if you’re still confused after they try and explain it, you should ask questions about it until you understand. If you aren’t sure what to do, just ask! It’s not because you’re dumb; you’ve never worked there before! It’s their job to train you. It would be ridiculous for them to expect you to know what to do right away. Another tip: take initiative. After you pretty much know what’s what, just do stuff without being told or asking questions.
