I see oily film that comes out of my coffee maker. Machine is clean. Is drinking this coffee unhealthy?
Some days the “oil” at the surface of the cup is more obvious. Today I could see the oil streaming through the coffee as I poured it from the pot into my cup. I’ve read about diterpenes and such, but I don’t know if the visible oily film is this and most importantly whether it is unhealthy to consume coffee like this?
The coffee is a preground store bought type (like Starbucks) and made through a standard drip coffee machine with filter.
Coffee is basically extraction of the oils of the coffee bean so I believe it’s probably natural. You could always soak the pot and all in vinegar.
